BuildCPQ LLC (“BuildCPQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates ShadeCPQ, a cloud-based configure-price-quote software platform for shade-product manufacturers, dealers, shops, and related businesses.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit our website, create an account, use ShadeCPQ, contact us, or otherwise interact with us.
By using ShadeCPQ or providing information to us, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through:
- the ShadeCPQ website;
- the ShadeCPQ application;
- account registration and billing workflows;
- customer support communications;
- product onboarding and training;
- dealer-verification processes;
- integrations and connected services; and
- other interactions you have with BuildCPQ or ShadeCPQ.
ShadeCPQ is intended for business use. This Privacy Policy applies primarily to business contact information and business account data, but some information may identify or relate to an individual user.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information.
Account and Contact Information
When you create an account, request access, contact us, or use the Service, we may collect:
- name;
- business name;
- email address;
- phone number;
- job title or role;
- mailing address;
- billing address;
- account login information;
- company account or Tenant information; and
- communications with us.
Business and Customer Data Entered Into the Service
When you use ShadeCPQ, you or your users may enter business data into the Service, including:
- company settings;
- product settings;
- pricing settings;
- costs, margins, labor rates, discounts, and formulas;
- quote information;
- proposal information;
- customer names and contact details;
- project information;
- measurements and configuration details;
- bills of materials;
- cut lists;
- generated PDFs, reports, and related outputs; and
- other information you choose to enter into the Service.
We refer to this as “Customer Data.”
As between you and us, you retain ownership of your Customer Data, subject to the limited rights granted to us in our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy.
Billing and Payment Information
We use a third-party payment processor, currently Stripe, to process payments and manage subscriptions. Stripe provides payment infrastructure for businesses, including subscription and billing tools.
We may receive limited billing-related information, such as:
- billing name;
- billing email;
- billing address;
- subscription plan;
- active modules or bundles;
- payment status;
- invoice history;
- last four digits of a payment card;
- card brand;
- expiration date; and
- Stripe customer or subscription identifiers.
We do not intentionally store full credit card numbers on our systems.
Dealer Verification Information
If access to certain manufacturer catalogs, pricing, or products requires dealer verification, we may collect information needed to verify your authorized-dealer status, including:
- business name;
- manufacturer name;
- dealer account information;
- confirmation emails from manufacturers;
- contact information for manufacturer representatives; and
- related verification records.
Support, Onboarding, and Training Information
If you contact us for support or participate in onboarding or training, we may collect:
- support requests;
- email communications;
- screenshots or files you choose to provide;
- account configuration details;
- troubleshooting information;
- notes from onboarding or training sessions; and
- information needed to respond to your request.
Website, Device, and Usage Information
When you visit our website or use the Service, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, such as:
- IP address;
- browser type;
- device type;
- operating system;
- pages viewed;
- referring pages;
- date and time of access;
- approximate location based on IP address;
- log data;
- feature usage;
- error logs;
- session information; and
- other diagnostic or analytics information.

We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to operate the website and Service, remember preferences, improve performance, understand usage, and support analytics.

- to provide onboarding, training, and professional services;
- to verify authorized-dealer status;
- to configure modules, bundles, catalogs, and account permissions;
- to generate quotes, proposals, PDFs, bills of materials, cut lists, and related outputs;
- to troubleshoot errors, improve reliability, and monitor performance;
- to communicate with you about your account, subscription, product updates, security, or support requests;
- to enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements;
- to prevent fraud, misuse, abuse, security incidents, or unauthorized access;
- to comply with legal obligations;
- to protect the rights, safety, and property of BuildCPQ, customers, users, manufacturers, suppliers, and others; and
- for other purposes disclosed to you or permitted by law.
4. Customer Pricing, Margin, Quote, and BOM Data
ShadeCPQ is a configure-price-quote tool, and we understand that your pricing, margin, quote, labor, cost, and bill-of-materials data may be commercially sensitive.
We will not use your quote data, pricing data, margin data, labor-rate data, cost data, discount data, or bill-of-materials data to make pricing recommendations to other customers or to benchmark your business against other users.
We may use Customer Data as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and support the Service for your account.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, product improvement, operational reporting, or business planning, provided that such information does not identify you, your business, your customers, or your commercially sensitive pricing, margin, quote, or BOM information.
5. AI-Assisted and Automated Features
The Service may include automated, algorithmic, or AI-assisted features.
If AI-assisted features are made available, information you provide may be processed to generate automated outputs, recommendations, summaries, descriptions, or other functionality within your account.
You are responsible for reviewing all automated or AI-assisted outputs before relying on them.
We will not use your quote data, pricing data, margin data, labor-rate data, cost data, discount data, or bill-of-materials data to train pricing models for other customers or to provide pricing benchmarks to other users, unless we first obtain your express written permission.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell Customer Data.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances.
Service Providers
We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the website and Service, such as:
- hosting providers;
- database providers;
- payment processors;
- email providers;
- analytics providers;
- customer support tools;
- security and monitoring providers;
- onboarding or training tools; and
- other operational service providers.
These providers are authorized to use information only as needed to provide services to us, subject to their own legal obligations and agreements with us.
Payment Processor
Billing and payment information may be processed by Stripe or another payment processor. Your payment information is subject to the payment processor’s terms and privacy practices.
Manufacturers and Suppliers
If your account requires dealer verification or manufacturer-specific catalog access, we may share limited information with the applicable manufacturer or supplier, such as your business name, contact information, dealer-verification status, or access request.
We may also receive information from manufacturers or suppliers related to dealer status, catalog access, pricing access, product data, or account authorization.
Integrations
If you enable an integration, such as a CRM, job management platform, or other connected service, we may share information with that integration as necessary to provide the requested functionality.
Your use of third-party integrations is governed by the applicable third party’s terms and privacy policies.
Legal, Safety, and Compliance
We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to:
- comply with law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or legal process;
- enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements;
- protect the rights, property, or safety of BuildCPQ, customers, users, manufacturers, suppliers, or others;
- prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical issues; or
- respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
Business Transfers
If BuildCPQ is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain business records, and support legitimate business purposes.
If your subscription is canceled or terminated, Customer Data may be deleted after 60 days unless a longer retention period is required by law or agreed in writing.
Canceled customers are not entitled to export customer lists, account data, pricing data, quote data, proposal data, bills of materials, or other Service data unless we expressly agree in writing or are required by law.
You are responsible for maintaining your own records and copies of important business information outside the Service before cancellation or termination.
Backup copies may persist for a limited period after deletion as part of our routine backup, security, disaster recovery, and archival processes.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no system, network, software, or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for:
- using strong passwords;
- protecting account credentials;
- limiting access to authorized users;
- managing user permissions;
- maintaining accurate admin-user information;
- promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access; and
- maintaining your own backups and business records.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include the right to:
- request access to personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion of personal information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request a copy of certain personal information;
- opt out of certain marketing communications; or
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

We may need to verify your identity and authority before responding to a request. If you are using ShadeCPQ through your employer or business, we may direct certain requests to the account owner or named admin user.
We may deny or limit requests where permitted by law, including where information is needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect security, or maintain business records.
10. Marketing Communications
We may send account, billing, security, product, and service-related communications. These are transactional or administrative and may be necessary to provide the Service.
We may also send marketing communications, product updates, or promotional messages. You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting us at support@buildcpq.com.
Even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may still send non-marketing communications related to your account, subscription, billing, security, or use of the Service.
11. Children’s Privacy
ShadeCPQ is intended for business use and is not directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. International Users
ShadeCPQ is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate.
Data protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.
13. Third-Party Websites and Services
The website or Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, integrations, or resources.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, security, or policies of third parties. Your interactions with third parties are governed by their terms and privacy policies.
14. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Signals
Some browsers or devices may transmit “Do Not Track” or similar signals. Because there is no uniform standard for responding to these signals, we do not currently respond to all such signals.
If applicable law requires us to recognize certain opt-out preference signals, we will do so as required.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice, such as by email, in-app notice, or website notice.
Your continued use of the Service after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
